Food lasts while you stay inside a supercharged ward where you are permitted.
Supercharge a normal ward with one Black Core using the Supercharge action shown while hovering it; the default key is Y. While you are inside its enabled coverage and have permission, your eaten food's remaining time is preserved. This lets you work around the base without spending your meal's duration. The ward hover text shows how long the supercharge lasts in real-world time.
