The Can Build tab shows available building pieces you have enough carried materials to make. It helps you find something you can afford without browsing through recipes with missing resources.

How to use it

  1. Equip your hammer or another building tool.

  2. Open the build menu.

  3. Select Can Build.

  4. Choose a piece and place it normally.

The list follows your current building tool. Switching tools changes which pieces can appear.

Which materials count?

The tab adds together matching materials across your carried inventory, including quick slots and equipment slots. Materials split between several stacks count together.

For example, if a piece costs six Wood, carrying three stacks of two Wood is enough for it to appear.

Materials stored in nearby chests are not included in this tab’s calculation.

Each piece is checked separately. If two different pieces each cost six Wood and you carry six Wood, both can appear. The list shows your options; it does not reserve materials for every displayed piece.

Does appearing here guarantee placement?

You must still meet the normal building requirements when placing the piece, including any required crafting station, permissions and placement conditions.

The tab checks whether you can afford a piece from the current tool’s available selection. It does not unlock unknown recipes or bypass building restrictions.

When does the list refresh?

The material check refreshes when you select the tab or reopen the build menu.

After collecting or spending materials, reopen the menu or switch away from Can Build and back to update the list.

Search is hidden in this tab, and a search entered elsewhere does not filter its results.

The hammer shortcut

The first card is a hammer repair shortcut. Selecting it equips a carried hammer if necessary, selects repair mode and closes the menu.

You need to carry a usable hammer for the shortcut to work.
