Steady Shot
Steady Shot is an enchantment that increases the damage of a bow when it is fully drawn and held for a certain amount of time before firing.
Mechanic Overview
When a projectile is fired, the game checks the amount of time the bow was held fully drawn beyond the original maximum draw time. The Quick Draw effect is ignored in this calculation.
Example:
- Assume your current skill level requires 2 seconds to fully draw the bow.
- With a 40% Quick Draw bonus, you would reach full draw at 1.2 seconds, but Steady Shot still uses the original 2-second draw time for its calculations.
Overdraw Time:
- The time held beyond the original 2-second maximum draw time is considered overdraw time.
- Overdraw time is capped at 5 seconds (after a total of 7 seconds held).
Damage Calculation
- Overdraw Percent: This is calculated as the overdraw time divided by the 5-second maximum (i.e., `Overdraw Time / 5s = Overdraw Percent`).
- Damage Modifier: The overdraw percent is then multiplied by the Steady Shot modifier to determine the damage increase.
Example Calculation:
- With 150 Steady Shot points and 5 seconds of overdraw, the damage is increased by 200%. (Note: This number is subject to adjustment at any time for balancing purposes.)
Damage Application
- The damage modifier from Steady Shot applies to the Pierce damage of both the bow and arrow.
- Elemental damages are not affected by Steady Shot.
