Wards in Sunshine Alley

Work in Progress

Sunshine Alley Wards are different from the Vanilla game.

Wards are for Individual use to protect your bases and property. Territories are used for communal facilities.

Expired wards continue to protect your Base from being claimed by someone else.

Note: Unwarded Bases are not safe from being claimed by other players

Wards give a protected area of 32 metres.

Benefits of Wards

  • All chests and doors locked.
  • Doors Autoclose, unless specifically told not to. Shift E to leave a door open.
  • All fuel automatically replenished (fires, torches, ovens etc)
  • Mob damage mitigation - some damage reduction on progress, on main full/100%
  • The Ward and chests are indestructible regardless of server
  • Ward expiry is in RL days
  • Access to gravestones is not blocked by wards
  • Weather protection
  • Pick and Hoe block
  • Placeitem block
  • Itemstand, sign and portal interaction off
  • Cart attach blocked, container block
  • Boat container blocked, rudder not blocked to not trap visitors.
  • Armorstand locked
  • Pickable and plant protection. Ward owner can damage own crops (atgeir, barley..)
  • Autoloot off
  • Inf. fuel provided
  • Wards are permitted by Steamid - Not payer ID, so once one of your characters is on a ward, they all are.
  • Expired timer. On Ward Expiry there is an expired time that will protect the Warded site. This time os deducted from later recharges.
  • Abandoned timer on a Ward triggers after YY days not recharged, when the Expired timer runs out.

Create a Ward

To be drafted.

Building a Ward does not consume a Thunderstone, charging it does. When a ward is created it is not charged i.e. it is inactive. It must be charged with a Thunderstone to protect the area

The number of wards your account can create is limited. Each boss your Account has killed, gives more wards

Charge a Ward

Thunderstones are required to charge/recharge a Ward. You buy them at Haldor for xxx coins Recharging Ward Thunderstone New players can charge 14 days - prog base gone after 28 days if its abandoned (when auto demolish works) Players already reached main can charge 45 days - 90 days before prog base gets demolished. Done by SteamID, so as long as you have any character on main, when charging, you get main benefit.

Recharge can be done when half the charge is expired, so when less than 7 or 22 days, you can add an additional 14 or 45 days upon existing charge, at a maximum of 67 days. Destroying a charged ward will return 1 thunderstone.

Supercharging Ward Black Core

Supercharge can be done with a Black Core

It will charge the ward 7 days for each core, if supercharge timer exceeds expiry timer, expiry timer will increase accordingly to never be less than supercharge. Supercharging cannot exceed 14 or 45 days. Destroying ward does not refund Black Cores.

Supercharged ward gives no food decay

Abandoned Wards

When a ward is not recharded for yy days the Base is deemed abandoned. Unless the build is deemed significant enough to be preserved it will be auto Stored, in case the player ever returns to the game and wishes to claim the materials.

This means everything will be disassembled, all the materials put in chests and uploaded to server for storage (not left in the world). If/When the player returns the materials will be made available to them. The base, as it was, will not be restored or rebuilt unless the site is still available, and the player chooses to do so with the returned materials.

Plants

Plants are suppose to be protected from anything. Barley/flax crops, after done growing, are supposed to be harvestable with atgeir inside ward, as long as you are owner or have permission.

Adding other players

  • Turn off your ward.
  • Get the other player to authenticate themselves on it,
  • reactivate your ward

SteamID is remembered until you change it, meaning you can add or remove same player from multiple wards without entering steamID again.
