====== Era Gating ======

The Progression Server is era gated, or more correctly your Character is Era Gated on the progression server.

The Meadows ERA is unlocked when the Server is Created for all players

Subsequent Biome Era's are unlocked by killing the boss of the previous Biome.  This is registered on the Character you do the kill with.  If you are playing more than one character you will have to do akill with all of them.

Locked Era's do not drop any items from mob kills, nor can you harvest any item from that Biome

===== Initial unlocks =====


When the server is first created only the Meadows items will drop or be able to be Harvested.  
This state persists until the first boss, Eikthyr is released to be killed, usually after 3 or so days.

The first killing of Eikthyr (or any boss) is a community event most players attend and we do him collectively.  This is not required but you must be present when he is killed (or kill him) to get past this Era gate.

This kill is then registered on the players character and allows access to the next Biome resources.

The Biome Bosses are released usually on a weekly schedule with date and time being anounced in Discord.  You cannot attempt to kill a boss before it is released.

The Bosses must be killed in order.  It is recommended that you check if you can get the boss ability from the Sacrifial Stones before proceeding into a new Biome or attempting to kill the next Boss.  The following message means the you still need to kill this boss

All Bosses must be killed individualy and in order to gain Access to the Main Server.

==== Joining Late ====

If you join the progression server after some/all of the bosses are released then you may kill them as fast as you can, but in order.  You do not need to wait a week between the attempts but you cannot skip bosses e.g. if you do not kill Eikthyr then the Elder kill will not be credited to you.  To be precise, your character is Era Gated, not the Server.

**Note:** Mobs from all biomes can and will attack you regardless of whether you can harvest or get drops from them.  Dying to wolves for nothing is depressing.

So, if you do not get wood from a Grey Dwarf or that silver vein won't crack, check if you got credit for the prior Boss kill before you raise an issue.
