====== Locking Ships ======

As we have had multiple cases of Ships being "borrowed" on the High Seas King Eirc has enabled our worthy Vikings to claim ownership of their vessels.

Simply Highlight the rudder and you will see the command to claim it, based on your keyboard mapping

Once a Ship is claimed you can unclaim it the same way.

===== Ownership =====


An owned ship is locked against everyone else - ownership is by steamid.\\

Attempting to interact with an owned ship will generate logs and broadcast messages on all servers.\\

This will generate a system wide message (all servers and logs) that they are attempting to steal that ship.\\

To Be explicit:\\
  * Anyone who tries to use a ship that is claimed by someone else will not be allowed.
  * Anyone trying to access the cargo of an owned vessel will not be allowed, and generate a message
  * Anyone attempting to destroy an owned ship to get the materials will generate a system wide message they are attempting piracy.



In short - if you see a vessel of any type just floating, hover the mouse over the rudder carefully before touching it.

If you ignore this, you __**WILL**__ be publicly mocked  AND  You will be watched as a potential thief.

===== Unowned Ships =====

If you are so game rich you do not care about your ships and cannot be bothered to lock ownership, No complaints can be made if they are "borrowed"\\

Of course, it will be considered bad form if ships floating outside a base are borrowed\\

but those left idle in the middle of nowhere - well - claim them or lose them.  

===== Vanishing Ships =====

It is not unknown for mobs to break ships and for the mats to de-spawn over time leaving no trace.\\ 
Necks, in particular, hate all types of ships and are relentless in attacking them.

If you have a ship where it is vulnerable to mob attack - dismantle it and store the mats in a box if you want to keep it.\\
To aid in this King Eric has enabled the hammer to disassemble a ship with one right click, instead of the traditional viking method of hacking it apart with your axe.

A claimed ship __cannot__ be stolen or destroyed by another player, and all attempts will be logged.\\
So, if your claimed ship is simply gone, then look for the mobs that destroyed it.
